The President of the NLC, Mr. Joe Ajaero, expressed his concerns in a statement released on Tuesday, urging President Bola Tinubu to consider implementing palliative measures before removing fuel subsidy.
Tinubu had announced the removal of fuel subsidy during his inaugural speech, citing the increasing costs and limited resources as reasons for the decision.

He assured that the funds saved from the subsidy removal would be redirected towards public infrastructure, education, healthcare, and job creation.
Ajaero reminded Tinubu of his previous statements opposing such a policy and cautioned against disregarding the well-being and security of the people.
The NLC called for the immediate withdrawal of the policy, considering its potential negative implications.
