The House of Representatives has given its approval for a significant financial adjustment regarding the National Assembly e-Library and Dashboard.
In the Appropriation Act for the fiscal year 2022/2023, a sum of N255 million was allocated for the National Assembly e-Library and N118 million for the National Assembly Dashboard.
The House has now agreed that these amounts should be redirected to the recurrent account of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund, serving as an initial take-off grant.
This decision was made following the unanimous adoption of a motion presented by Jonathan Gbefwi, a member of the House.

Gbefwi emphasized the importance of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund, which was established to provide modern library equipment, support the training of legislators and staff, and enhance research skills for legislative processes.
Gbefwi pointed out that preparations for the operation of the Trust Fund, such as appointing an Executive Secretary and forming the Board of Trustees, have been completed.
He expressed concern that any further delays in transferring the allocated funds would hinder the smooth establishment of the Trust Fund and hinder the Act’s objectives for the 2022/2023 financial year.
