In a statement released shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration, the South-West Professional Youths Network has appealed to him to retain certain “outstanding” appointees from the previous administration of Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

The group, led by Comrade Seun Adeaanu, argues that since both Tinubu and Buhari are from the same political party, it would be fair to retain individuals who have demonstrated their competence and dedication in the previous government.

They stressed the importance of continuity in governance and advises Tinubu to identify and reward those appointees who have excelled under Buhari’s leadership.

They believe that working with the managing directors and CEOs of various government agencies will allow Tinubu to build upon their achievements and ensure a smooth transition.

They urged the president to prioritize the welfare of the nation over political interests when making appointments, encouraging him to disregard individuals who are solely focused on securing positions for themselves.
