Rotimi Amaechi absent at Tinubu’s inauguration, attends Alex Otti’s swearing-in as Abia governor

Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past Minister of Transportation and an APC chieftain in Rivers State, was not in attendance at the inauguration ceremony of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s 16th President at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

Reports indicated that Tinubu assumed office on Monday, succeeding Muhammadu Buhari.

The event witnessed the presence of several African leaders, including Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, Billy By-Nze of Gabon, Alassane Ouattara of Cote D’Ivoire, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, and Paul Kagame of Rwanda.

Amaechi, who served as the governor of Rivers State, was spotted at the inauguration of Alex Otti, the Labour Party candidate, as the Governor of Abia State at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

Otti took his oath of office during the midday ceremony, administered by the Abia Chief Judge, Justice Lilian Abai, in the presence of Otti’s deputy, Ikechi Valentine Emetu.
