Peter Mbah has officially taken office as the Governor of Enugu State following his swearing-in ceremony.
The Chief Judge of the State, Raymond Ozoemena, administered the oath of office to Mbah at the Michael Okpara Square in Enugu on Monday.
In addition, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Mbah’s deputy governor, also took the oath of office.
The former governor of the state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, was present at the inauguration ceremony, accompanied by his former deputy, Cecelia Ezeilo.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Senator Jim Nwobodo, the former governor of old Anambra State, Sullivan Chime, a former governor, Senator Chukwuka Utazi, the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Edward Ubosi, and other notable individuals.
Mbah, who contested under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), emerged victorious in the 2023 state governorship election, securing 160,895 votes.
His closest rival, Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party (LP), received 157,552 votes.
