During his inauguration on Monday in Abuja, Nigeria’s newly elected President Bola Tinubu expressed his intention to extend respect towards his opponents in the February 25 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi.
Tinubu emphasized that his victory does not make him more Nigerian than others nor diminish the Nigerian identity of his opponents.

He pledged to treat Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi as important compatriots, highlighting his commitment to unity and inclusivity.
The former Lagos Governor, along with Vice President Kashim Shettima, took the oath of office, assuming the roles of the 16th President and Vice President of Nigeria respectively.
