Bauchi governor plans amotekun inspired security outfit to tackle insecurity

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has revealed his administration’s decision to establish a security outfit, similar to the Amotekun model in the southwestern part of Nigeria, aimed at addressing the prevailing insecurity in the state.

During his second-term inauguration speech, he announced the formation of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, which would build upon the existing local government security infrastructure.

The governor outlined that the program’s first phase would recruit approximately 20,000 youths.
