In a significant ruling delivered on Friday, the Supreme Court leveled accusations of cyberbullying against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The judgment came in response to an appeal filed by the PDP, seeking to invalidate the election of President-elect Bola Tinubu on the grounds of his running mate, Kashim Shettima, being guilty of double nomination.
During the judgment, Justice Inyang Okoro of the Supreme Court noted that the PDP had been utilizing social media platforms to mislead the public.

The five-member panel of the apex court dismissed the appeal, ruling that the appellant lacked the legal standing to bring the case forward.
Justice Okoro further emphasized that the appellant had attempted to deceive the Supreme Court by claiming that the lower court had found evidence of double nomination.
However, a thorough examination of the records and the lower court’s judgment revealed no such finding.
Justice Okoro expressed disappointment that learned senior counsel would intentionally mislead the court.
