Sanwo-Olu commends cabinet members for successful first term in Lagos state

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State expressed his satisfaction with his first four years in office, attributing his success to the support of his cabinet members.

During the valedictory cabinet meeting held at the Lagos House, Ikeja, the governor acknowledged that his cabinet had faced both joyful and challenging times since they were sworn in on August 19, 2019, marking almost four years of working together.

Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the difficulties they encountered, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the EndSARS protests.

He commended the resilience and unity of the cabinet, emphasizing that the state had made significant progress in various areas.

The financial trajectory of Lagos State had been impressive, with the budget doubling in four years and successful implementation of initiatives aligned with their THEMES agenda.

While some members of the cabinet had moved on to pursue new political journeys, the governor expressed satisfaction in retaining around 90% of the team, which contributed to stability and a shared understanding of how to run Lagos effectively.

He emphasized that their decisions had always been focused on the welfare and aspirations of the people, and the cabinet had worked with compassion to ensure the greatest good for the greatest number of Lagosians.
