Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has strongly criticized President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, labeling it as the worst in Nigeria’s history.
Ortom accused the outgoing president of bringing about widespread poverty and insecurity, creating a significant negative impact on the lives of Nigerians.
He contrasted Buhari’s tenure with the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, claiming that Nigeria flourished under Jonathan’s leadership, citing the stability of prices, exchange rates, and overall economic growth during that time.
Ortom expressed his disappointment in the current government’s governance, citing endemic corruption and the unequal treatment of individuals involved in theft.

He criticized the fact that petty criminals are incarcerated while those in positions of power who exploit public resources go unpunished.
The governor also voiced his concerns regarding President Buhari’s failure to address the activities of armed Fulani herdsmen, who have been responsible for various killings across the country.
Ortom questioned whether Buhari’s personal interest in cattle rearing hindered his ability to tackle the issue effectively, deeming it unfair to the Nigerian people.
