According to the US State Department’s International Religious Freedom Report, North Korean authorities have shockingly sentenced a toddler to life imprisonment due to the presence of a Bible in his parents’ home.
The report reveals numerous cases of religious persecution, including executions and torture, targeting Christians in North Korea.
It is estimated that as many as 70,000 Christians have been imprisoned for their faith under the Kim Jong-un regime.

The report highlights the harsh treatment of Christians, who are perceived as a “hostile class” and a threat to the state’s loyalty.
While North Korea officially guarantees religious freedom in its constitution, the report exposes the reality that churches in Pyongyang serve as mere showcases for foreigners, and any religious activity outside of these controlled environments is met with scrutiny and potential arrest.
The testimonies and evidence presented in the report raise serious concerns about the severe religious persecution faced by Christians in North Korea.
