Nigerian afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently shared a remarkable incident from his early career days.

He revealed that his billionaire father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, once took drastic measures by arresting him, show promoters, and fans at an event he was scheduled to perform.

This extreme action was a consequence of Davido’s decision to pursue music against his father’s wishes and while neglecting his education.

During his appearance on The lateish Show with Mo Gilligan on Channel4, Davido shed light on the conflict within his family regarding his musical aspirations.

In a family that emphasized education and business, his choice to pursue a career in music became a point of contention.

The singer explained that his father would employ the police to apprehend him whenever he learned about Davido’s performances.

Not only did his father arrest him, but he also targeted the show promoters and even the fans attending the events. Davido further revealed that his father had surveillance cameras to monitor his whereabouts.
