Catholic Bishop Mathew Kukah of Sokoto has urged Nigerian youths who travel abroad to always consider returning to contribute to the development of the country.
Speaking at an inauguration lecture, Kukah emphasized that Nigerians are not suffering due to their religious affiliations but because the country is malfunctioning.
He highlighted the widespread poverty affecting millions of Nigerians and stressed that the nation’s challenges must be addressed collectively.
Despite the difficulties, Kukah expressed optimism about Nigeria’s potential and described it as a beautiful country.

Drawing inspiration from his own experiences, he encouraged Africans to emulate the mindset of Asians who travel abroad with a purpose and return to develop their home countries.
Kukah also called on the Vice-President-elect to create an environment that instills confidence in Nigerians and fosters national progress.
He shared the story of two young men in America who were hesitant to return due to the lack of opportunities, emphasizing the need for a believable, livable, and credible Nigeria that motivates its citizens to serve and build a great nation.
