Bayern Munich’s last minute triumph seals Bundesliga title as Dortmund’s drought continues

Borussia Dortmund once again fell short in their quest for a league victory, extending their winless streak since 2012.

Despite entering the final day of the Bundesliga with a two-point lead, Dortmund’s hopes of clinching their first league title in 11 years were dashed as they settled for a 2-2 draw against Mainz.

Meanwhile, their fierce rivals Bayern Munich secured their 11th consecutive league triumph, snatching victory in the 89th minute against FC Köln.

The decisive goal was scored by Jamal Musiala, leading Bayern Munich to claim the title by the slimmest of margins on an eventful final day.

This achievement marks head coach Thomas Tuchel’s first Bundesliga triumph with the club, making him the seventh manager in the past eight seasons to win the prestigious title with Bayern Munich.

Tuchel’s name now joins the ranks of esteemed managers such as Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti, Jupp Heynckes, Niko Kovac, Hansi Flick (who won it twice), and Julian Nagelsmann.
