A man was brutally murdered in Aba, Abia State, as unidentified gunmen shot him three times before beheading him at a food/drink joint near Item hall at St. Michael’s Road on May 24, 2023.

The motive behind the heinous act remains unclear, but witnesses at the scene believe it was related to cult violence.

The attackers, numbering four, arrived on a commercial tricycle and targeted the victim at close range, firing shots at his head before decapitating him with a cutlass.

The incident caused panic among shop owners and patrons, who quickly fled to safety. T

he area became deserted as people closed their shops to avoid police scrutiny during a subsequent raid. Police arrived shortly after the incident and evacuated the victim.

According to an anonymous source, the victim had allegedly absconded with money from a business transaction, prompting a gang to pursue him for three days before executing the fatal attack.
