FG implements security measures and traffic diversions for presidential inauguration in Abuja

In preparation for the handover and inauguration parade at Eagle Square in Abuja, the federal government has imposed restrictions on movement in the vicinity.

The announcement was made by Ngozi Onwudiwe, a permanent secretary in the office of the head of civil service.

Starting from 2 pm on Friday, May 26, until Tuesday, May 30, access to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Federal Secretariat Complex Phases I, II, and III will be blocked by security personnel.

The inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima is expected to take place on Monday, May 29.

The FCT police command has also introduced traffic diversions in anticipation of the inauguration.

Several points, including Goodluck Jonathan Expressway, Deeper Life Junction, and Eagle Square, will experience traffic changes.

Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, emphasized that intelligence and tactical assets have been deployed across the FCT to ensure security and prevent any potential threats.
