In another post, he thanked everyone who showed him love and support during his time in custody, including his wife Yeide Kuti, his legal team, which included Femi Falana, Olumide Fisika, Kayode Adegoke, and Ade Ademiluyi, and Barrister Ogunlana.

He expressed his gratitude towards them for securing his freedom and preserving his sanity. Additionally, Kuti referred to his release as a birthday gift to his sister Yeni, who celebrated her 62nd birthday on that day.

Seun Kuti had surrendered himself to the Lagos State Police Command on May 15 for investigation regarding an assault on a policeman captured in a viral video. He was granted bail the following day but remained in custody until his release on Tuesday.
