Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, announced on Wednesday that he has forgiven President Muhammadu Buhari for blaming his administration for the killings in the state.
Ortom made this statement during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘The Morning Show’.
Initially, Ortom criticized the presidency for attempting to shift the blame onto his government, referring to such attempts as “futile” and a distortion of events and history.
President Buhari had previously apologized to aggrieved Nigerians, urging them to forgive him for any shortcomings.

Backing his forgiveness with biblical teachings, Ortom stated that as a born-again Christian, he believes in forgiveness and has chosen to forgive President Buhari.
He expressed hope for improved performance from the incoming administration led by President-elect Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the need for support, security, economic development, and peace for the people of Benue State and the nation as a whole.
Ortom further advised President Buhari to remain in Nigeria and work alongside the Tinubu administration to uplift the state and the country, rather than seeking to leave for the Niger Republic.
He urged unity and cooperation to facilitate progress and uplift the nation from its current state to greater heights.
