WhatsApp introduces message editing feature allowing users to edit sent messages

WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature that enables users to edit messages they have already sent. Mark Zuckerberg, the Chief Executive Officer of Meta, disclosed this exciting update on Monday.

With this new capability, users of the popular instant messaging service will now have the ability to edit their sent messages within a 15-minute window.

This enhancement provides greater control over conversations, allowing for corrections of typos, additions of additional context, or changes of mind.

To utilize the feature, users can tap and hold the message they wish to edit, select the “Edit” option from the menu that appears, and make the necessary changes.

Prior to this update, users had to resort to deleting messages or sending follow-up messages for corrections.

The feature is currently being rolled out to users and is expected to be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

Notably, other platforms such as Telegram, Signal, and even Twitter (for premium users) have already implemented message editing features prior to WhatsApp’s introduction.
