El-Rufai denies embezzlement allegations, challenges past governors to swear on Qur’an

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has vehemently denied allegations of embezzling public funds during his two terms in office.

In his final media broadcast held over the weekend, El-Rufai stated that he could swear on the fact that he never took a single penny from the government’s treasury.

He addressed the accusations of taking loans by emphasizing that the borrowed funds were invested in tangible projects within the state, evident for all to see.

El-Rufai asserted that he did not indulge in personal luxuries such as purchasing houses in Dubai or constructing mansions on Jabi Road.

He explained that his financial situation remained modest, having only one house on Danja Road in Ungwan Sarki.

El-Rufai openly challenged past governors of Kaduna State to come forward and take an oath on the Qur’an, declaring that they did not misappropriate any of the state’s resources during their tenure.
