The Dangote Refinery, the world’s largest single-train refinery, is set to commence operations today, processing crude oil grades from Africa, Asia, and America.
The refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is expected to produce a surplus of approximately 38 million liters of petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel daily, effectively meeting Nigeria’s 100% fuel supply requirement.
This significant development will create numerous direct and indirect job opportunities, generating an estimated 100,000 jobs and establishing 26,716 filling stations.
Additionally, the refinery is projected to provide a $21 billion market for Nigerian crude oil annually.
The Dangote Refinery, located in the Dangote Industries Free Zone in Lagos, will refine crude oil into various petroleum products, including high-quality gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and polypropylene.
Designed to comply with stringent environmental regulations, the refinery aims to produce environmentally friendly petroleum products for global markets.
It is equipped to process a wide range of crude oils, including African, Middle Eastern, and US Light Tight Oil.
The refinery’s production capacity will ensure self-sufficiency in Nigeria’s liquid fuel requirements, meeting the domestic demand for petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel while creating a surplus for export.
It will significantly reduce the country’s reliance on petroleum product imports and attract foreign investment.
The project’s scale and complexity demonstrate Dangote Industries’ commitment to transforming the Nigerian economy and promoting local content in the oil and gas industry.
