The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has granted approval to four domestic companies to print cheques within the country, as indicated in a recent circular.
The circular, signed by Sam Okojere, Director of the Banking Services Department, revealed the accredited firms: Superflux International Limited, Tripple Gee and Company, Yaliam Press Limited, and Marvelous Mike Press.
These firms have been authorized to serve as printers and personalizers of cheques, aligning with the CBN’s objective to ensure an efficient Payment and Settlement System.
The re-accreditation process was conducted in collaboration with the MICR Technical Implementation Committee, based on the NICPAS qualification criteria.
The circular, dated May 4, 2023, listed the approved cheques printers and personalizers.

Additionally, seven banks have been approved as cheques personalizers, including Zenith Bank Plc, Ecobank Plc, Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, First Bank Ltd, Keystone Bank Ltd, Wema Bank Plc, and Providus Bank Ltd.
All accredited printers and personalizers have received notifications and issued certificates.
Notably, two previously accredited firms, Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company Plc and Euphoria Group Limited, were excluded from the current list.
The Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company Plc, responsible for printing Nigeria’s currency, including recent denominations, was among those omitted.
The reduction in the number of cheques printers is evident, dropping from 14 in 2010 to the current four, marking a decline of 71.43%.
