LP to present 50 witnesses in presidential election petition tribunal

Labour Party (LP) has announced its intention to summon 50 witnesses to testify at the presidential election petition tribunal.

Peter Obi, the LP candidate, had filed a lawsuit challenging Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election.

During the tribunal session on Saturday, Awa Kalu, the counsel representing Peter Obi and the LP, stated that they would require seven weeks to complete the process, as they have yet to conduct a forensic investigation of the BVAS as directed by the court.

Kalu also mentioned that they are awaiting some requested documents. The star witnesses, responsible for presenting electronic evidence, will have 30 minutes for demonstration, followed by a 20-minute cross-examination and a 5-minute re-examination. Other witnesses will be allotted 10 minutes each.
