FRSC warns of prosecution for motorists bribing personnel amidst probe into extortion allegations

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a stern warning that any motorist found bribing its personnel will face prosecution.

The FRSC public education officer, Bisi Kazeem, made this announcement in response to the investigation of FRSC officers allegedly caught extorting motorists by an agency surveillance team.

The arrested operatives in Sagamu, Ogun state, have been recalled to the FRSC’s zonal headquarters in Lagos for a thorough investigation.

Kazeem confirmed the arrest and ongoing probe, emphasizing that the tactical surveillance team was established to combat bribery and corruption within the ranks.

He urged civilians to refrain from engaging in such unlawful acts and cautioned that those caught conspiring with FRSC teams would face legal consequences.

Kazeem emphasized the importance of setting a precedent through arrests and prosecutions to deter future perpetrators and maintain public trust in the FRSC.
