In a court hearing held at the Yaba Magistrates’ court in Lagos State, Chukwuemeka Ewa, a 37-year-old man, has been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for defrauding Toyeeb Olanrewaju of N5 million.

The defendant faced charges of fraud, false pretense, and stealing, which were brought against him by the Lagos State Police Command on June 17, 2021.

According to the prosecution, Ewa had posed as the owner of a property located at No 12, Afolabi Street, Shibiri, Lagos, and deceived Olanrewaju into believing that he could sell and transfer the property to him.

The court was presented with relevant documents supporting the claim that the defendant committed fraud against the victim.
