Three men remanded in kirikiri custodial centre for murder and attempted murder in Lagos

Three men, Mukaila Nofiu, Wasiu Rasheed, and Hassan Kazeem, have been sent to the Kirikiri Custodial Centre in Lagos after being accused of murder and attempted murder.

They were brought before the Yaba Magistrates’ Court, where Magistrate O.Y. Adefope presided over their arraignment on charges of murder and attempted murder.

The incident in question occurred on April 14, 2023, at approximately 2:46 pm in Igbolodo village, along Ketu, Omu Road, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, Haruna Magaji, the defendants used planks and wood to fatally assault Alade Bello and also attempted to kill Lasisi Sikiru, who is currently undergoing medical treatment.

These actions are in violation of Sections 233 and 230 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.

During the court proceedings, the defendants’ pleas were not taken.

The prosecutor requested that the court remand the accused individuals in custody until the Directorate of Public Prosecution provides legal advice.

Magistrate Adefope granted this request, ordering that the defendants be remanded at the Kirikiri Custodial Centre until the legal advice is received.
