On Monday, an articulated truck carrying a 40ft container overturned onto a Toyota car near the Cement bus stop in the Dopemu area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred around 4 pm and fortunately, no casualties were reported as there was no one inside the car at the time of the accident.

According to Taofiq Adebayo, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the accident was a result of brake failure.

The truck, traveling towards Dopemu, lost control when its brakes malfunctioned, causing it to fall onto a red Toyota Camry parked by the roadside.

Adebayo further mentioned that the General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, recently held a meeting with the association of truck drivers.

During the meeting, Oreagba emphasized the importance of ensuring that their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey.
