Former US President Donald Trump has asserted that if he were currently in power, he could swiftly resolve the long-standing conflict between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours, despite their military capabilities.
Trump shared his approach during a CNN town hall event in New Hampshire, where he stated his intention to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Trump emphasized that both leaders possess strengths and weaknesses, and he believed he could reach a settlement to end the war promptly.
The Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014, escalated dramatically on February 24, 2022, when Russia invaded and occupied parts of Ukraine.
The conflict has resulted in a significant loss of life on both sides and triggered a massive refugee crisis in Europe, comparable to that of World War II.

Trump acknowledged that Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine was a mistake and claimed that such an action would not have occurred if he were still the US President.
Trump, who served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021, has already expressed his intention to run for the presidency in 2024 and is considered a leading contender for the Republican Party’s nomination.
He reiterated his desire to stop the loss of life in Ukraine and asserted that with the power of the presidency, he could accomplish this within 24 hours.
However, former Governor of New Jersey, James Christie, criticized Trump for failing to explicitly state his support for Ukraine in the conflict.
Christie took to Twitter to accuse Trump of being a puppet of Putin and suggested that Trump’s proposed resolution might involve appeasing Russia by handing over Ukraine.
