The Chidi Ibeh-led faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has expressed that Nigerians are dissatisfied with the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, particularly in areas of insecurity and corruption.
The faction also noted that Nigeria has regressed by 100 years, citing division along ethnic and religious lines.
The Secretary General of the faction, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, observed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government had come into power with high hopes of improving security and fighting corruption in 2015.
However, the faction expressed disappointment that security challenges escalated from three Northeast states to 33 states across the country, while corruption and nepotism worsened.

The faction lamented that Nigeria had seen its worst era in decades, leading to two recessions due to citizens’ inability to cope with hikes in prices of essential commodities.
They also criticised the failed naira redesign and cashless policy, citing the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) failure to alleviate the hardship associated with the scarcity of banknotes.
Despite the criticisms, the group acknowledged that the South East had witnessed significant infrastructural development, including the completion of the Second Niger Bridge, the upgrading of facilities at Akanu Ibiam Airport to international standards, and the reopening of the Onitsha Dry Sea Port, which had remained closed for 46 years.

The group also praised the assistance given by Buhari’s administration to the Ebonyi government in the realisation of the Abakiliki Airport and the grant of a free trade zone to the ongoing Enyimba Economic City project.
