The South-West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the Supreme Court’s verdict that upheld the election of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the validly elected governor of Osun State.

The party said the ruling demonstrated the judiciary’s impartiality and underscored the importance of the rule of law in a democracy. Chief Sanya Atofarati, the PDP South-West Zonal Publicity Secretary, lauded the judiciary, saying,

“The historic judgement of the Supreme Court, which has clearly demystified the lies and falsehood of the All Progressives Congress, has shown the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.”

In his congratulatory message titled “Supreme Court: Adeleke’s victory, justice prevailed over falsehood,” Atofarati commended the people of Osun State for their support for the PDP and their governor.

He said the verdict showed that the governor won the election “fair and square” and that the victory was a triumph of the people’s mandate over falsehood perpetrated by the APC in 2018.

According to Atofarati, the PDP views Adeleke’s victory as a repudiation of the previous administration’s maladministration, which had plunged the state into darkness.

He expressed confidence that Adeleke’s leadership would illuminate Osun and eliminate the dark alley of maladministration unleashed on the state in the past 12 years.
