Reports claim that Lionel Messi has agreed to a £522m deal with Saudi side Al-Hilal after his fallout with current club, Paris Saint-Germain.
According to AFP, a Saudi source close to the negotiations said that Messi will play in Saudi Arabia next season, calling the transfer “huge”.
Messi’s current employer did not comment on the transfer, other than to say that Messi’s contract with them lasts until the end of June.

L’Equipe had previously reported that a verbal agreement had been reached, but no contract had yet been signed.
The offer on the table for Messi is said to be a two-year contract with the option of a third, which would make the star 38 years old before the contract finishes.
The move would mean that Messi would once again compete against his long-term rival in football, Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Hilal’s rivals, Al-Nassr.
However, Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, reportedly has concerns about relocating their family to Saudi Arabia and would prefer to stay in Europe.
Messi was initially prepared to wait until the end of the season to make his decision after discussing his future with his family, but reports suggest that these concerns have been addressed and he is set to move to Riyadh.
Messi’s preference is said to have been to remain in Europe, and he is also believed to have been keeping an eye on the financial situation at his former club, Barcelona. However, he has reportedly ruled out a return to Spain.
Barcelona is required to raise approximately £175m to be able to register recruited players or players currently on the books who sign new contract extensions.
