A 19-year-old student of the Federal University of Otuoke (FUO) in Bayelsa State, identified as Job Alawari-Kei, has passed away following an alleged overdose of illicit drugs.

Alawari-Kei, a 300-level Petroleum and Gas Engineering student, reportedly collapsed and died after consuming a locally known drug called Colo.

According to the spokesperson of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, the incident occurred on May 3, 2023 at approximately 10:00 p.m.

Butswat confirmed that an investigation into the matter is ongoing, and the corpse has been deposited at the hospital for an autopsy.
