Elon Musk shared a personal aspect of his life with his followers on Twitter over the weekend. Responding to a post suggesting that he came from a wealthy family but experienced financial difficulties, Musk revealed that he had not enjoyed a happy childhood due to insufficient financial support.

Musk shared memories of his father’s efforts in raising him and his siblings, explaining that Errol Musk’s company was successful for around 20 years before things became challenging.

Despite his father’s subsequent bankruptcy, Musk says he and his brother have supported him financially, provided he does not engage in any “bad behaviour”.

However, he also revealed that there are young children involved in the situation, hence the decision to continue providing financial support for their well-being.

Musk denied inheriting anything from anyone or receiving a large financial gift, saying that he grew up in a lower to middle-income household.

He stated that the knowledge his father taught him about physics, engineering, and construction was more valuable than money. Although his narrative presents a relatively sombre picture of his upbringing, Musk is one of the richest individuals in the world, with numerous companies and investments to his name.
