Edo Governor, Godwin Obaseki, approves 13th month salary for state workers

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has given the green light for the payment of a 13th-month salary to civil and public servants in Edo State.

He encouraged collaboration among the workers to guarantee the sustainability of ongoing reforms, which would improve the livelihoods of citizens and stimulate economic prosperity in the state.

Obaseki announced this during an interaction with civil and public servants in Benin City.

While praising the workers for supporting his administration over the past six years, Obaseki promised the development of projects such as the Benin Port, which would ensure sustainable economic growth and development for the state.

He urged workers to take an active role in the reform process, which would guarantee that the next leader would not reverse the developmental strides made so far.

Obaseki stated that work on the Benin River Port project would begin in nine to twelve months, with partners already setting up an LNG plant near the river port in anticipation of its completion.

He expressed his hope that the project would be a game changer for the state and encourage further growth and development.

The Permanent Secretary of the Edo State Ministry of Environment and Sustainability, Edionwe Joel, praised Obaseki’s developmental strides and his commitment to the welfare of workers in the state.
