AAUA philosophy graduate, Gbenga Moses, found dead inside room

A fresh graduate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Gbenga Moses, was found dead in his room, according to reports.

The incident occurred on Sunday, while Moses was waiting for his National Youths Service Corp call-up letter. Moses graduated from the Department of Philosophy of the university in January 2023 and was living outside the campus where the incident took place.

The deceased, also known as Pablo, reportedly complained about stomach ache after eating at a restaurant with his girlfriend. The couple went to a hospital for treatment and later returned home, but Moses was found dead the next morning.

The cause of death is yet to be confirmed, but suspicion has been raised that he died of food poisoning due to his earlier complaint.

The Dean of Student Affairs at the school, Prof. Olusegun Akanbi, confirmed the incident, stating that Moses passed away early Sunday morning, and his parents had been notified.

The Head of Media and Protocols of the university, Mr Victor Akinpelumi, revealed that an investigative panel has been established by the institution to look into the matter.

The police in Ondo State have also launched an investigation into the incident. Moses’ untimely demise has left the university community and his loved ones in shock and mourning.
