Employees sentenced to 5 years with hard labor for stealing chicken wings and cooking oil from company’s warehouse

Two employees of Pizzaman in Kumasi, Ghana, have been sentenced to five years imprisonment for stealing 20 boxes of chicken wings and two gallons of cooking oil from the company’s warehouse.

The accused individuals, Seidu Karim and Rashid Abdullah, were found guilty of the theft, and the stolen items were retrieved from them during an investigation by the Asuoyeboah police command.

The prosecutor, ASP Jonas Newlove Adjei, told the court that the complainant, who is the executive chef of Pizzaman, received a call from his warehouse manager reporting the theft.

Upon investigation, the chef discovered that the items were indeed missing, and an emergency meeting was held with workers asked to provide the stolen items. Rashid Abdullah and Seidu Karim were then identified as the culprits.

During the investigation, Seidu Karim admitted to stealing 20 gallons of cooking oil from the company in a period of two months. The accused individuals were subsequently charged with the offense and were each sentenced to five years imprisonment in hard labor by the Kwadaso Circuit Court.
