Foreign doctors of Tinubu arrive in Nigeria as the president elect takes a medical break in Lagos

“President-elect” Bola Tinubu has reportedly returned to Lagos to rest and receive follow-up medical treatment from doctors who previously treated him in France. Some members of the medical team have already arrived in Nigeria for Tinubu’s ongoing care. According to a source, Tinubu flew to Lagos on Saturday to see his doctors before heading to Rivers State to commission Governor Nyesom Wike’s project.

Although his Director of Media and Publicity claimed that he was on vacation in France, SaharaReporters previously reported that Tinubu fell ill after the March 18 governorship and State Assembly elections and was flown to France for medical treatment. SaharaReporters also reported that Tinubu’s ailment was so severe that he had to be intubated for five days and could not speak. During this time, his tongue was reportedly sticking out.

After his return, pictures of Tinubu with a suspected peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line) attached to his upper arm went viral on social media platforms. A PICC line is used to deliver medications and other treatments directly to the large central veins near the heart.
