Deontay Wilder was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Hollywood. The Los Angeles Police Department pulled over his Rolls-Royce at approximately 1:15 AM for illegally tinted windows and an obstructed license plate. Police officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from his vehicle during the stop.
Following a search, both weed and a 9mm firearm were discovered in the car. Despite this, Wilder remained cooperative and pleasant throughout the entire ordeal. He was taken into custody and booked for possession of a concealed weapon, and he bonded out at 6:34 AM the same day.

Wilder, who has 42 knockouts on his record, has been the subject of rumors regarding his next fight, which is expected to be a heavyweight superfight against Anthony Joshua in 2023. The consequences of the arrest on the fight’s negotiations remain uncertain.
