Chuka Ofili, a tech entrepreneur, has predicted that the expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will generate approximately 133 million jobs by 2025. Speaking at the 2023 edition of The Platform on Monday, Ofili stated that the upscaling of technology would be the best way to tackle the country’s unemployment rate as the world’s demand for technology skills is high.
He dismissed concerns that AI would take away jobs in the technology sector, at least for another 20 years.

Ofili added that by 2025, 97 million jobs would have been created due to technology, while an estimated 133 million would be created as a result of the expansion of AI. He further encouraged young Nigerians to take advantage of the growing technology space, stating that one does not necessarily need to be technology-inclined to create value in the sector.
According to Ofili, there are non-technical roles such as product development, content production, and marketing that will continue to have global demand as individuals create value to meet the needs of the technology industry.
