‘Treat workers with respect’: CAN urges FG and employers on May day

Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has urged the government and employers to treat workers with respect, dignity and provide them with favorable working conditions.

In a statement released on Monday, Archbishop Okoh emphasized CAN’s commitment to promoting the welfare and well-being of Nigerian workers. He commended the hard work and sacrifices of Nigerian workers despite the challenges in the country and encouraged them to continue their duties with diligence, hard work and excellence.

The Christian Association of Nigeria recognizes the invaluable contributions of Nigerian workers to the growth and development of the nation. As Christians, they believe that work is not only a means of earning a living but also a means of fulfilling their God-given purpose on earth.

Archbishop Okoh expressed solidarity with Nigerian workers who have been adversely affected by the current economic situation and called for decent working conditions, fair wages, and job security.

CAN is committed to working with stakeholders to promote the welfare and well-being of Nigerian workers and will continue to advocate for policies and programs that enhance their productivity, skills, and job opportunities. The association congratulated Nigerian workers on the occasion of May Day and urged them to continue to uphold the dignity of labor.
