Lai Mohammed mocks PDP and LP, urges them to stop complaining over 2023 election loss

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, advised the opposition to stop complaining about the 2023 presidential election, which they lost woefully. Mohammed said President Muhammadu Buhari’s analysis of the reasons for the opposition’s defeat in the 2023 elections was incontrovertible. He said the opposition lost the election due to their overconfidence and complacency.

According to the minister, the president deserves nothing but accolades for delivering the best election in Nigeria’s history, adding that the opposition’s reaction to the president’s comments has shown them to be sore losers.

Mohammed also claimed that the opposition’s overconfidence going into the election stemmed in part from social media propaganda and procured opinion polls that were meant to hoodwink their foreign backers.

The minister also said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, won the presidential election fair and square, clinching the majority of the votes cast and surpassing the constitutionally-stipulated 25% of votes cast in each of at least two-thirds of all the states in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

Mohammed criticized the opposition for continuously seeking to mislead the world by clutching at weak straws that results were not immediately uploaded onto the IReV Portal, adding that the opposition Labour Party would go down in history books as the first-ever distant third-place finisher in a presidential election anywhere to have boldly claimed victory.
