Five people have lost their lives in a fatal road accident along the Tombia-Amassoma Road in Bayelsa State on Friday. The accident involved a black Toyota SUV with registration number RGM 38 HM and a Mazda 323F with registration number NEM 456 PG in a head-on collision. The driver of the Mazda and four passengers died on the spot, while a female passenger was rescued and hospitalized at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri.

The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the accident, stating that investigations are ongoing to arrest the driver of the SUV and determine the cause of the accident. The corpses of the deceased victims have been deposited at the hospital for autopsies.
