Jaiye Kuti, a popular Yoruba actress, has debunked rumours about a romantic relationship between herself and the fuji singer, Pasuma.

It was previously speculated that the actress had divorced her husband to date Pasuma. However, in an interview with BBC Yoruba, Jaiye Kuti clarified that the rumours began when she featured Pasuma in a movie titled ‘Jaiyeola Monje,’ in which they played the roles of a couple and had a child together.

According to Jaiye Kuti, the wedding between her and Pasuma in the movie prompted fans to watch the film to understand the plot. The viral images that fuelled the rumour were taken from the movie and often appear on Google searches about the actress.

Jaiye Kuti explained that her relationship with Pasuma was mutual and that there was no romantic involvement between them. She further stated that she is happily married with children.
