Leon Balogun, the Nigerian defender for Queens Park Rangers (QPR), has been confirmed by the team’s manager, Gareth Ainsworth, to be out for the rest of the season after he suffered yet another injury. Balogun has been plagued by injury throughout the 2022/23 season.
Ainsworth disclosed this ahead of QPR’s Sky Bet Championship match against Stoke City on Saturday. During the pre-match press conference on Friday, he stated that only Balogun and Ossie Kakay would be out for the remainder of the season, and expressed regret for the situation, calling both players excellent professionals.

Balogun signed with QPR last summer as a free agent and was a key player in their defence, scoring one goal and starting 12 league games before his injury. With his season officially over, QPR will have to look for alternative options to cover his position.
