Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has celebrated the ex-Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili on her 60th birthday. He referred to Ezekwesili as his daughter, and he recounted how she was intelligent, reliable, and dynamic when she worked with him during his presidency. Obasanjo stated that he treated Ezekwesili like his biological daughter because of her qualities.

He wished her more fulfilling and glorious years ahead. Obasanjo explained that he met Ezekwesili through Transparency International, which was started by Peter Eigen, a former World Bank employee.
Obasanjo commended Ezekwesili’s dedication to duty and hard work, adding that it was “easy to warm up” with her. Ezekwesili is an advocate for good governance, the rights of the girl-child, and education. She is also a former Vice President of the World Bank for Africa.
