Lagos state Police investigates death of passenger in Bolt car

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of a passenger in a Bolt car. According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer, the Bolt driver reported the incident at the Ilasan Police Division on Monday.

The driver had been instructed by the customer to take him from Osapa London, near Jakande, to the Ikate area of Lekki. While in transit, the passenger screamed and shouted “my heart,” the driver claimed. The customer was then taken to a hospital at Jakande 1st Gate, and subsequently to another hospital in Lekki, where he was declared dead.

Police officers visited the hospital, took photos of the deceased’s body, and contacted his family members. The corpse has been deposited at the Marina Infectious Diseases Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy. The Lagos State Police Command is investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of death.
