Labour Party chairman murdered by herdsmen in Benue

The chairman of the Labour Party in Edikwu Ward 2 of Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, Mr. Nathaniel Ochoche, was among the five people killed by unknown gunmen in the state.

The incident occurred over the weekend, and the party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Tersoo Orbunde, confirmed the tragedy in a statement issued on Monday.

Orbunde expressed his shock at the gruesome murder of Ochoche, who was ambushed and killed by armed Fulani militia. He described the deceased as a committed party member who worked tirelessly for the growth of his community, constituency, and country.

The killing of Ochoche and the others has once again brought to the fore the issue of insecurity in Benue State and other parts of the country.

The spate of attacks by unknown gunmen has continued unabated, and the government has been criticized for not doing enough to protect citizens. The Labour Party called on the Federal Government to take urgent measures to end the menace.
