On Monday, Egyptians were fleeing from Sudan, where a conflict between two rival generals continues in Africa’s third-largest country. Coaches were observed carrying evacuees through the Argeen border with Sudan. Foreign governments, including Egypt, have been airlifting hundreds of their diplomats and other citizens out of Sudan to safety.
Over 420 people, including 264 civilians, have been killed, and more than 3,700 have been injured in the fighting between the Sudanese armed forces led by General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.

According to a Sudanese national, Mona Othman, there is heavy shelling, no water or electricity, and an unstable situation. Jets have been seen over the capital all the time. Last week, Egypt’s military evacuated 177 soldiers, while on Sunday, the foreign ministry reported that 436 citizens had left by land. It is believed that over 10,000 Egyptians live in Sudan.
