Senator Aishatu Dahiru (Binani), the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Adamawa, has vehemently denied the allegations leveled against her of giving a bribe of N2 billion to INEC staff to secure her victory as Governor-elect.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Binani dismissed the allegations as “very bizarre, unfounded wild allegations” made by an officer of the Department of State Services who was allegedly tortured at gunpoint by the agents of the Adamawa State Governor and the Government House police team.

Binani raised concerns about the actions of INEC officers from Abuja, alleging that two INEC national commissioners had illegally instructed the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Adamawa to stand down, and that some INEC national officers had made a nocturnal visit to the Adamawa State Government House before a bizarre declaration was made about taking over the collation process through the backdoor, with the Collation and Returning Officers allegedly selected by the Governor of Adamawa.
