Nigeria’s U-18 Girls Crowned IHF Women’s Champions

Nigeria’s U-18 girls’ team emerged as champions of the IHF Women’s Trophy Africa Zone 3 Phase after defeating Benin Republic in Accra, Ghana. The team, led by coach Shittu Adewunmi, secured a resounding 42-17 victory, with goalkeeper Babatunde Kehinde named as the Most Valuable Player of the Match for her outstanding performance. With four wins and no losses in the competition, Nigeria has qualified for the IHF Women’s Trophy Continental Phase.

This success is a testament to the Handball Federation of Nigeria’s development programs that aim to discover and nurture talent in the sport. Nigeria will now represent Africa Zone 3 in the continental phase, which will be hosted in a yet-to-be-announced country in the coming months.
